HABC Rescue Committe Chairman: Stan Aspey
Contact Stan at: stansabulldogs@centurytel.net With the help of club members, we rescue bulldogs at the animal shelters from being euthanized and find good homes for them. Our club works with animal shelters and verterinarians from all over the heartland.
If you are interested in adopting a rescue bulldog, please let Stan know and he will put your name on our waiting list.
We also help dogs who need to find new homes because of owner relocation, new babies in the family, etc.
When adopting a bulldog, there are a few things you need to know:
- A Bulldog is an inside dog. They cannot tolerate hot weather, especially when combined with high humidity.
- Some Bulldogs have maintenance issues, such as skin irritations or eye &/or respiratory problems.
- Bulldogs have wrinkles that need to be cleaned and kept dry.
- Bulldogs love to play outside, so it is best to have a fenced yard. They are such a loving breed that they know no stranger and would get in a car with anybody. Do not leave your bulldog unattended outside!
- Bulldogs CANNOT swim. It is best to keep them away from water unattended.
To apply for a rescue bulldog: Go to www.thebca.org and fill out an application in the Rescue section. Contact Stan Aspey to add your name to this waiting list.
